With the heaviest heart and with sorrow upon sorrow, I deeply regret to inform you that our most beloved brother Daniel Pyo was involved in a drowning accident on Thursday afternoon at a lake in Seattle, and went home to be with the Lord shortly after.
This is a painful loss to our EM. We all loved him so much. This is a time for us to weep the loss of our brother together. We weep with Daniel’s family. We weep with one another. But though we grieve, we do not grieve as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Instead, we grieve with peace that Daniel is resting in the bosom of Christ, and we also grieve with hope that Christ will soon return and raise us all together with Him.
Nevertheless, we do grieve right now. I too am deeply saddened. I love Daniel dearly, and I will miss my brother very much.
Due to the pandemic, we are not sure what funeral arrangements will look like. We will keep you updated as we learn more. Please keep the Pyo family in your prayers. Let us all take this time to grieve with one another as a family in Christ.
The EM pastoral staff is here for you if you need counseling,or if you have any questions.
Come Lord Jesus. Come quickly.
With sorrow and with hope,
Pastor Daniel Chin
[4] He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
